NAVAIR & NAVSEA Open Topic for Counter Unmanned Air Systems (C-UAS)
SBIR Opportunity Analysis
The Department of the Navy, through NAVAIR and NAVSEA, is seeking SBIR proposals for counter-unmanned air systems technologies that can improve detection, tracking, identification, and neutralization of hostile UAS. The work focuses on enhancing existing prototypes or concepts, with areas of interest including AI-powered target recognition, AI/ML-enabled swarm detection and tracking, non-kinetic or low-kinetic defeat for small UAS, and AI/ML approaches for adaptive programmable camouflage. Phase I proposals must address feasibility, the DON systems to be improved, and expected performance gains, and the effort is described as subject to ITAR and EAR restrictions. The Phase I base period is four months at up to $75,000, with an optional six-month period at up to $100,000. The opportunity is scheduled to open June 24, 2026 and close July 22, 2026 at 4:00 PM, with multiple Phase I awards planned but not guaranteed.
