The Department of Defense, through the U.S. Army, is seeking innovative solutions for the treatment and processing of wastewater generated from the Ammonium Perchlorate Rocket Motor Destruction (ARMD) operations. The primary objective is to enhance operational throughput, reduce costs, and improve environmental outcomes by addressing inefficiencies in wastewater processing and handling, particularly focusing on the removal of manual processes and the development of novel Brine Concentration Technologies. This initiative is critical for optimizing the ARMD system, which has transitioned to Full Rate Production and faces challenges related to the management of combustion effluents and brine water disposal. Interested small businesses must participate in the xTechIgnite prize competition to qualify for a Phase I SBIR proposal, with a funding amount of up to $250,000 for a six-month feasibility study, and proposals are due by August 20, 2025.
