SBIR Opportunity Analysis

The Department of Defense, on behalf of the United States Air Force and Space Force, is seeking Small Business Innovation Research proposals for the Tactical Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Tracking initiative. The program aims to rapidly field non-missile-warning, space- or ground-enabled sensing and analytic capabilities that deliver commercially derived, unclassified insights to enhance warfighter decision speed. Deliverables include hardware, software, multi-sensor fusion, or artificial intelligence and machine learning pipelines that provide timely, operationally relevant insights without requiring new government-developed space hardware. The effort features a three-month Phase I period of performance to assess technical feasibility, followed by a Phase II effort to develop a functional prototype, and is subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Level 2 requirements. Proposals must be submitted under solicitation number 26.BX by the application deadline of August 19, 2026.
