Commercial-Derived Insights for Novel Tactical Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Tracking (TacSRT) Capabilities

This Space Force SBIR solicitation (DAF26BX04-NV506) seeks innovative Phase I proposals to identify and demonstrate the feasibility of novel, non-missile-warning, space- and ground-enabled sensing and analytic capabilities. Aligned with the Space Force Commercial Space Strategy, the Tactical Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Tracking (TacSRT) initiative aims to leverage commercial technologies to rapidly deliver unclassified, real-time tactical insights to warfighters in contested environments. Proposed solutions may include hardware, software, multi-sensor fusion, AI/ML-driven change detection, or automated data exploitation pipelines that improve decision speed without requiring new government-developed space hardware. Out-of-scope areas include missile warning, kinetic interceptors, satellite buses, and launch vehicles. During the three-month Phase I Period of Performance, selected contractors will evaluate technical feasibility, define a minimum viable capability, and outline a 12-month path to transition. Phase II will focus on maturing these concepts into a functional, testable prototype for immediate operational demonstration. Phase III will pursue full transition to operational workflows through non-SBIR funding streams, targeting a Technology Readiness Level of 6-7. This topic is ITAR-restricted and requires a projected Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 (Self).
