SBIR Opportunity Analysis

The Department of the Air Force, on behalf of the Space Force, is seeking Small Business Innovation Research proposals for commercial-derived insights to support Novel Tactical Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Tracking capabilities. Selected contractors must identify, assess, and demonstrate the feasibility of novel, non-missile-warning, space- or ground-enabled sensing and analytic technologies that rapidly deliver unclassified, real-time tactical insights to warfighters. Eligible solutions include hardware, software, multi-sensor fusion, AI/ML-driven change detection, and automated data exploitation pipelines, though proposals must not require new government-developed space hardware. The procurement features a three-month Phase I period of performance to evaluate technical feasibility and define a minimum viable capability, followed by a Phase II effort to develop a functional prototype. This ITAR-restricted solicitation, under topic number DAF26BX04-NV506, opens on July 22, 2026, and requires applications to be submitted by August 19, 2026.
