Adaptive and Intelligent Space (AIS)
STTR Opportunity Analysis
The United States Space Force, through Task Force Futures in partnership with SpaceWERX, is seeking early-stage SBIR/STTR research for the Adaptive and Intelligent Space challenge to advance autonomous, resilient, and intelligent space operations. The effort focuses on feasibility studies and preliminary concepts for edge computing and algorithms, sensor payloads, or spacecraft bus design, with deliverables that include an initial CONOPS, a documented feasibility assessment, and a proposed Phase II development plan. Proposals are expected to emphasize technical feasibility through modeling, simulation, trade studies, and collaboration with a qualified research institution, while addressing mission needs across contested environments in LEO, GEO, XGEO, and cislunar space. Phase I also requires participation in the AIS Phase I Showcase in El Segundo, California, which serves as the Phase II proposal submission, and the application deadline is May 13, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. ET.
