SBIR Opportunity Analysis
The Department of Defense, through the Army, is conducting the xTechSearch 9 SBIR Finalist Open Topic Competition, aimed at identifying innovative dual-use technologies that can significantly enhance Army capabilities. This competition will select up to 24 winners to submit proposals for Army SBIR Phase I funding, with potential awards of up to $250,000 for technologies that demonstrate strong commercial viability and address critical Army modernization priorities. Key focus areas include Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML), advanced materials, cyber technologies, and sensors, among others, while excluding technologies solely related to military medical research. Interested parties must submit a white paper by June 4, 2025, at 5 PM ET, to be eligible for participation, with the overall competition opening on October 22, 2025, and closing on November 9, 2025.
