Plant Protection Act Section 7721 Plant Pest and Disease Management and Disaster Prevention Program

The USDA APHIS is announcing the Plant Protection Act Section 7721 Program Fiscal Year 2026, also known as the Plant Pest and Disease Management and Disaster Prevention Program (PPDMDPP). This program offers up to $90 million in funding, with at least $62 million allocated for PPDMDPP, to protect American agriculture and natural resources from invasive pests and diseases. Eligible applicants include State departments of agriculture, other State and Federal agencies, Tribal nations, non-profit organizations, industry, and colleges and universities. Projects must align with the six PPDMDPP goal areas focused on pest and disease survey, domestic inspection, pest identification, nursery safeguarding, outreach, and mitigation. Suggestions must be submitted through the PPA 7721 ServiceNow Suggestion Submission portal by August 6, 2025, 11:59 PM Eastern Time. Successful applicants will receive funds via cooperative or interagency agreements, with performance periods generally lasting 12 months. All non-Federal awardees must register with the System for Award Management (SAM) and maintain an active Unique Entity Identifier.
