2026 Community Wood Energy and Wood Innovation Program
Grant Opportunity Analysis
The USDA Forest Service is offering the 2026 Community Wood Energy and Wood Innovation Program, a federal grant opportunity aimed at supporting projects that enhance forest health and stimulate local economies through renewable wood energy and innovative wood products. Eligible applicants include non-profits, local, state, and tribal governments, businesses, institutions of higher education, and special purpose districts, with funding available for shovel-ready projects that do not require additional funding or time post-award. The program has a total funding pool of up to $6 million, with individual awards ranging from $10,000 to $1 million, and applicants are required to leverage additional non-federal funds to complete their projects. Interested parties can find more information and application instructions on the Wood Innovations Homepage, with proposals due by April 22, 2026.
