2026 Wood Products Infrastructure Assistance Program
Grant Opportunity Analysis
The USDA Forest Service is offering the Wood Products Infrastructure Assistance Program (WPIA), a federal grant opportunity aimed at supporting facilities that utilize byproducts from forest ecosystem restoration projects on federal and Tribal lands. This program, funded by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), seeks to establish, reopen, retrofit, expand, or improve wood-processing facilities, particularly those that procure substantial raw materials from areas at risk of severe wildfire or insect/disease infestation. With individual awards ranging from $50,000 to $2,000,000 and no cost-sharing required, eligible applicants include for-profit entities, state and local governments, Indian tribes, non-profit organizations, and institutions of higher education. Applications are due by April 22, 2026, and must be submitted through Grants.gov after registering with SAM.gov.
