Tribal Colleges and Universities Planning for Clean Energy Transition - 2025

The Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Indian Energy Policy and Programs intends to issue a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) titled “Tribal Colleges and Universities Planning for Clean Energy Transition - 2025.” This Notice of Intent (NOI) is to inform interested parties about the upcoming FOA, which aims to provide financial support to Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs) for planning their transition to clean energy. Eligible TCUs must be institutions of higher education in the 48 contiguous United States or Alaska, formally controlled, sanctioned, or chartered by an Indian tribe. The DOE Office of Indian Energy anticipates making approximately $5 million available through grants, with individual awards ranging from $100,000 to $250,000, for an estimated period of performance of two to three years. No recipient cost share is expected. The FOA is planned for late Summer 2024. Applicants are advised to register with IE-Exchange, obtain a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) through SAM.gov, register in SAM, and register in FedConnect in anticipation of the FOA's release. While Grants.gov registration is recommended for updates, applications will only be accepted through IE-Exchange.
