Tribal Clean Energy Planning and Development – 2025

The Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Indian Energy Policy and Programs intends to issue a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) titled “Tribal Clean Energy Planning and Development – 2025.” This Notice of Intent (NOI) outlines plans to solicit applications from Indian Tribes, Alaska Native Regional and Village Corporations, Intertribal Organizations, and Tribal Energy Development Organizations. The FOA aims to fund projects for tribal clean energy planning, comprehensive feasibility assessments of clean energy technology deployment, and the design and development of clean energy projects on Tribal Buildings or Lands. The DOE Office of Indian Energy anticipates making approximately $25 million available, with individual awards ranging from $100,000 to $2,500,000, and a performance period of two to three years. A 10% recipient cost share is expected, though reductions to 0% may be possible based on economic factors. Applicants are advised to register with IE-Exchange, obtain a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) through SAM.gov, register in SAM, and register in FedConnect in anticipation of the FOA's release in late Summer 2024.
