Special Warfare Enhanced Visual Augmentation System (EVAS)

The Department of the Air Force's Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) for a Special Warfare Enhanced Visual Augmentation System (EVAS). This RFI seeks non-developmental, production-ready multi-spectral night vision goggles for dismounted airmen to replace and upgrade existing legacy devices. The Air Force aims to identify systems that address capability gaps such as heavy, low-resolution, high-latency thermal sensors, and limited field of view in current multi-spectral NVGs. Key requirements for the EVAS include enhanced vision performance (detection/identification range, vision dominance, depth perception, field of view), reduced weight, force protection, material reliability, durability (MIL-STD-810G compliance), internal and external power capabilities, interoperability with helmets and other equipment, human system integration, EMI shielding, maintainability, and robust cybersecurity features. Vendors are asked to provide detailed responses on how their proposed solutions meet these requirements, including technical specifications, cost estimates, and company information by September 24, 2025.
