Helium Mass Spectrometer Leak Detector System

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Material Measurement Laboratory (MML) has issued a Sources Sought Notice (NIST-SS26-CHIPS-06) for a Helium Mass Spectrometer Leak Detector System. This system is crucial for CHIPS project 1.02, which aims to establish standards for metering hazardous gases used in semiconductor chip production. The required system must detect He 4, include a dry pump, operate in vacuum and sniffer modes, have a helium pumping speed between 1 L/s and 10 L/s, and a minimum detectable leak of ≤ 5 × 10^-12 mbar L/s (vacuum) and ≤ 5 × 10^-8 mbar L/s (sniffer). It must also be mobile, operate on standard US power, and include specific accessories like a helium spray gun and a ≥ 10 ft sniffer probe.
