Strengthening Transit Security and Economic Protection in Mozambique

The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Counterterrorism is seeking a cooperative agreement to strengthen transit security in northern Mozambique and protect U.S. economic interests. The initiative will support the Police of the Republic of Mozambique in detecting and disrupting terrorism threats along the N380 and N1 highways through specialized training, non-lethal equipment, and targeted mentorship. The work is described as a two-year effort focused on improving law enforcement presence, preparedness, and response capabilities in Cabo Delgado and along key transit corridors tied to commerce and LNG-related activity. Applications are due June 9, 2026, with one award anticipated and an award range of $4,000,000 to $4,933,399.
