Grant Opportunity Analysis

The Bureau of Land Management is seeking applications for the FY26 Bureau of Land Management Eastern Nevada Conservation, Recreation and Development cooperative agreement to find, study, protect, and manage archaeological resources in Lincoln County, Nevada. Selected recipients will perform work that includes protecting archaeological sites, caring for collections and records, sharing research results, increasing public outreach, and restoring damaged watersheds. To qualify for funding, proposed projects must focus exclusively on archaeological resources that are at least 100 years old, conforming to the Archaeological Resources Protection Act definitions. Applicants must submit a detailed budget narrative justifying all projected direct and indirect costs across categories like personnel, travel, and equipment for a performance period of up to five years. Applications must be submitted electronically through Grants.gov by August 14, 2026, for awards ranging from $30,000 to $250,000, with inquiries directed to Tamera Freeman at tamera_freeman@ios.doi.gov.

Individuals and For-Profit Organizations are ineligible to apply for awards under this NOFO.This program NOFO does not support entities hiring interns or crews under the Public Lands Corps Act of 1993. The Public Lands Corps Act of 1993, 16 USC, Chapter 37, Subchapter II-Public Lands Corps, is the only legislative authority that allows BLM to "hire" interns under this authority. Therefore, eligible Youth Conservation Corps may only apply for projects developed under NOFO 15.243 – BLM Youth Conservation Opportunities on Public Lands
