Renewable Resource Extension Act National Focus Fund Projects
Grant Opportunity Analysis
The USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture is funding Renewable Resource Extension Act National Focus Fund projects to help extend scientific results that support the longevity of U.S. forest and rangeland resources and help landowners and managers meet their goals. The work focuses on extension projects of national or regional relevance, with priority areas including tree planting and reforestation and invasive animal control and management such as feral pigs. Eligible applicants are primarily land-grant universities and certain other state-supported colleges with forestry programs, and project directors must hold an extension appointment; applications will be evaluated on project justification, merit, relevance, personnel, and a detailed evaluation plan. Approximately $300,000 is available for two awards of $130,000 to $150,000 each, with applications due June 8, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, no matching funds required, and questions directed to grantapplicationquestions@usda.gov.
