The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is offering a funding opportunity through the Plant Protection Act Section 7721 Plant Pest and Disease Management and Disaster Prevention Program (PPDMDPP) for Fiscal Year 2026. This program aims to support projects that protect specialty crops, nursery systems, forestry, and other agricultural production systems from harmful and invasive plant pests and pathogens, with a focus on six key goal areas including pest and disease survey and mitigation. APHIS anticipates making available up to $90 million in funding, with individual awards ranging from $130,000 to $400,000, and expects to fund between 325 and 350 projects. Interested applicants must submit their project suggestions by August 6, 2025, and can find additional details on the program's website or contact Donna L. Shultz at donna.shultz@usda.gov for further inquiries.
