Protecting and Rehabilitating Sexually Exploited Women and Girls Through Long-Term Safe Homes

The Department of Health and Human Services Office on Women's Health is offering federal grants to fund initiatives that protect and rehabilitate sexually exploited women and girls through existing long-term safe homes. Funded organizations must provide longer-term residential care, rather than emergency shelter, along with comprehensive, multidisciplinary services that address physical, psychological, emotional, social, and educational needs. Grantees are required to implement trauma-informed therapeutic models, establish community-level partnerships, maintain adequate around-the-clock staffing ratios, and ensure age-appropriate living arrangements. Applications are due by July 20, 2026, with approximately $7,600,000 in total program funding available to support four awards ranging from $1,000,000 to $2,000,000 each over a 24-month performance period.
Eligible Applicants
Nonprofit organizations may be required to provide evidence of tax-exempt status. When projects involve the collaborative efforts of more than one organization or require the use of services or facilities not under the direct control of the applicant, written assurances of specific support or agreements may be required from the affected parties.
