Grant Opportunity Analysis

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration is offering a discretionary grant to strengthen and expand integrated, evidence-based substance use disorder and maternal mental health services for pregnant and postpartum women and their families. The program supports screening, treatment, recovery supports, and workforce development to improve maternal and infant health outcomes, with attention to pregnant and postpartum women with substance use disorders, including opioid use disorder, and co-occurring mental health conditions. Eligible applicants are statutorily limited to Single State Agencies for Substance Use, and the program prioritizes women, infants, families, and communities disproportionately impacted by maternal morbidity and mortality. The estimated total program funding is $5.4 million with about five awards expected, the synopsis is estimated for May 15, 2026, and questions may be directed to Tracy Ambos at ppw-plt@samhsa.hhs.gov or 240-276-0307.
