GREGoRi Innovation Projects (U01 Clinical Trial Optional)
Grant Opportunity Analysis
The National Institutes of Health and the National Human Genome Research Institute are seeking applications for the GREGoRi Innovation Projects to accelerate a paradigm shift in rare disease diagnosis. Funded projects must develop and test highly innovative experimental or computational approaches to identify causal genes and variants, aiming to make transformative improvements over current whole exome sequencing methods. Awardees are required to adhere to specific NIH data sharing policies, which include contributing to the GREGoRi Data Coordination Center and utilizing the AnVIL platform. Applications are due by October 30, 2026, with an estimated total program funding of $7,500,000 to support approximately 8 to 10 awards of up to $500,000 in direct costs annually for up to three years.
