Description

The U.S. Mission to Slovenia has posted a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the NGO Small Grants Program. This grant program aims to strengthen ties between the United States and Slovenia while advancing Embassy priorities. The program is open to Slovenian not-for-profits/NGOs/social enterprises, Slovenian educational and research institutions, and public entities.

The eligible topics for projects under this grant program are broadly defined and include democracy and human rights, security and defense issues, economic and business development, decarbonization of the energy sector including civil nuclear energy, international and collective security and military cooperation, regional and transatlantic cooperation, increasing economic growth and innovation ties with the U.S., cybersecurity, building resilience to counter disinformation, cultivating mutual understanding through exchange and educational programs, protection of the environment and climate change issues, building support for shared values highlighting diversity, inclusion and tolerance, and creating more opportunities for women and youth to drive economic prosperity.

The Embassy is looking for proposals that build and enhance relationships between Slovenia and the United States. Stronger consideration is given to projects that incorporate an American component, such as an American speaker, expert, author, etc. The projects should be sustainable with clearly defined goals and outcomes. Additionally, the projects should include acknowledgement of U.S. Embassy support and a plan to amplify cooperation via traditional or digital media.

To apply for this grant, interested organizations must submit a Table of Contents listing application contents and attachments, completed and signed SF-424 and SF-424A forms, completed and signed NGO Small Grants Program Application Form, Disclosure of Lobbying Activities (SF-LLL) form (if applicable), a summary and detailed budget in USD with a budget narrative, and a monitoring and evaluation plan (optional). Attachments such as letters of commitment, CVs of key personnel, and project experience may also be included but should not be unreasonably lengthy.

Completed applications should be submitted electronically through LjubljanaNGOGrants@state.gov and also sent to the Public Affairs Section, U.S. Embassy Ljubljana. It is important to note that applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
