The National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) is inviting applications for the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) Section 40207 Battery Materials Processing & Battery Manufacturing and Recycling Grant Programs. This initiative aims to develop domestic facilities for battery materials processing, manufacturing, and recycling, with the objective of enhancing critical domestic manufacturing and supply chains while increasing the production of key critical minerals used in batteries by up to 15% by 2030. The program has an estimated total funding of $500 million, with individual awards ranging from $50 million to $100 million, and applications are due by April 24, 2026.
