Reduction of Truck Emissions at Port Facilities Competitive Grants Program

The Federal Highway Administration is offering the Reduction of Truck Emissions at Port Facilities Competitive Grant Program to fund projects that reduce idling and emissions at port facilities, including efforts that advance port electrification. The program supports work by entities that operate, use, or have authority over port facilities or adjacent areas, as well as entities testing or evaluating technologies that reduce truck emissions at ports. Projects are expected to emphasize emission reduction, innovation, and readiness, with technical, financial, and permitting factors considered, and awards are structured as cost-reimbursable grant agreements with a 20% non-federal cost share requirement. The opportunity provides up to $150 million in federal funding for fiscal years 2024 through 2026, plus any remaining FY 2023 funds, and applications are due June 19, 2026, through Grants.gov.
Eligible Applicants
Eligible applicants for RTEPF Competitive Grant Program funds are entities that: 1) have authority over, operate, or utilize port facilities or intermodal port transfer facilities; 2) have authority over areas within or adjacent to ports and intermodal port transfer facilities; or 3) will test or evaluate technologies that reduce truck emissions at port facilities or intermodal port transfer facilities.
