The Health Resources and Services Administration's Bureau of Health Workforce is accepting applications for the Nurse Education, Practice, Quality, and Retention - Transition to Practice Program to address nursing shortages in rural and medically vulnerable areas. Projects must dedicate 45 percent of their annual funding to experiential learning while detailing their specific plans for recruiting, training, and retaining undergraduate nursing students. The agency expects to distribute an estimated $24,262,837 across approximately 33 awards, providing up to $750,000 per year for a four-year period. Eligible Applicants
Section 801(2) defines "school of nursing" as "an accredited (as defined in paragraph 6) collegiate, associate degree, or diploma school of nursing in a State where graduates are— (A) authorized to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination-Registered Nurse (NCLEX–RN); or (B) licensed registered nurses who will receive a graduate or equivalent degree or training to become an advanced education nurse as defined by section 811(b). , such as:Baccalaureate nursing programs; andCommunity colleges that train associate-degree nurses.
