American Innovation and Workforce Advancement Program

The Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Embassy Djibouti has issued a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the American Innovation and Workforce Advancement Program (PAS-DJI-FY26-AIWAP). With total available funding of up to $50,000, this program aims to award one to six grants or cooperative agreements ranging from 6 to 12 months in duration. The initiative's primary objective is to strengthen workforce readiness, professional competitiveness, and economic self-reliance among Djiboutian youth, emerging professionals, entrepreneurs, and underserved populations. Funded projects must provide practical hard and soft skills training—such as digital literacy, STEM, financial planning, and leadership development—to at least 300 participants while promoting American innovation and institutional practices. Eligible applicants include registered non-profit organizations, civil society groups, public and private educational institutions, and governmental or public international organizations based in the United States or Djibouti. For-profit entities are excluded. Applications must be submitted via Grants.gov by August 6, 2026. Submissions must include mandatory federal forms (SF-424 series), a five-page narrative proposal detailing the project design and monitoring plan, a detailed budget justification, and proof of active SAM.gov registration with a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI). Applications will be evaluated based on program quality, organizational capacity, budget accuracy, and project sustainability. Recipient organizations are responsible for program execution, while the U.S. Embassy will provide strategic oversight, performance monitoring, and branding guidance.
