The Health Resources and Services Administration, through the Bureau of Health Workforce, is seeking a cooperative agreement to establish a national Primary Care Dental Faculty Development Center. The center will serve as a training and resource hub to develop faculty who teach primary care dentistry, improve oral health outcomes through community and population-level approaches, and prepare dental faculty for leadership roles. Work includes building curricula and training in clinical teaching, academic scholarship, and leadership, with a planning year, support for two cohorts of at least 20 trainees each, and collaboration with HRSA; funding priorities also favor collaborative projects, retention, diversity, vulnerable-population training, cultural competency, underserved placement, and special-populations education. The award has no matching requirement, offers up to $1,000,000 over five years for one award, and applications are due electronically by 11:59 p.m. ET on July 8, 2026; applicants must be CODA-accredited before September 1, 2026.
Eligible Applicants
You can apply if you are an accredited school of dentistry, public or nonprofit hospital, or public or private nonprofit entity which the Secretary of Health and Human Services deems capable of carrying out this grant. You must be accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) before September 1, 2026.
