The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is offering a federal grant opportunity titled "NM FY25 IIJA/IRA Bureau of Land Management New Mexico Threatened and Endangered Species Program." This program aims to implement strategic actions that protect biodiversity, slow species extinction rates, and enhance resilience to climate change, while also supporting state wildlife objectives and engaging diverse communities in conservation efforts. The program is particularly focused on on-the-ground actions for the conservation and recovery of federally-listed and sensitive species, as well as increasing public awareness about these species on BLM-managed lands. Interested applicants, specifically private institutions of higher education, can apply for funding ranging from $10,000 to $800,000, with a total estimated program funding of $250,000. Applications must be submitted electronically by 5:00 p.m. ET on February 26, 2025, and further inquiries can be directed to Devon Strayer at dstrayer@blm.gov.
