The National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) of the U.S. Department of Energy is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) titled "High-Efficiency Gasification for Clean Hydrogen Production" to gather insights on enhancing clean hydrogen production through advanced gasification technologies. This initiative aims to solicit feedback from a wide range of stakeholders, including industry members, researchers, and non-governmental organizations, focusing on strategies to utilize alternative low-value feedstocks (excluding coal and petcoke) while maintaining competitive production costs. The ultimate goal is to develop efficient gasification processes that integrate carbon capture to achieve net-zero or negative carbon emissions, validated through life cycle analysis. Responses to this RFI must be submitted electronically by 5:00 p.m. (ET) on February 12, 2024, to Hydrogen_Gasification_RFI@NETL.DOE.GOV, and further inquiries can be directed to Mirael Parker-Davis at 412-386-9475 or via email at mirael.parker-davis@netl.doe.gov.
