Grant Opportunity Analysis

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration is offering the Fiscal Years 2024 Through 2026 Nationally Significant Federal Lands and Tribal Projects Competitive Grant Program to fund transportation projects on tribal and federal lands. The application package requires a detailed project summary, eligibility information, total project cost and funding request, project location, NEPA status, a statement of work, and a full budget showing federal, non-federal, and any previously incurred costs. States, counties, and local governments may apply only with sponsorship from a federal lands managing agency or Tribal government, and applications are evaluated for merit, readiness, innovation, and DOT priority considerations such as reducing congestion and improving travel in rural communities. The program will award up to $165 million across FY 2024 through 2026, requires cost sharing, has no minimum or maximum award amount, and the application deadline is July 16, 2026.
