DoW Multiple Sclerosis Exploration-Hypothesis Development Award
Grant Opportunity Analysis
The Department of the Army’s USAMRAA, through the Defense Health Agency Contracting Activity, is funding the FY26 Multiple Sclerosis Research Program Exploration-Hypothesis Development Award to support innovative, high-risk, high-gain research in multiple sclerosis. The award seeks projects that develop well-formulated, testable hypotheses and address at least one program focus area, including central nervous system repair, disease activity correlates, MS symptom biology, or mechanisms of MS etiology and progression. It is a two-year grant mechanism with no clinical trials permitted, and applications are reviewed for technical merit and programmatic relevance; the New Investigator option is available for applicants early in their faculty appointments. Approximately $2 million is available for up to eight awards, each capped at $250,000, and the process uses a pre-application and full application submitted through eBRAP, with the pre-application due July 30, 2026 and the full application due August 13, 2026.
