The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is inviting proposals for the Rapid Response Fund for Aquatic Invasive Species (F24AS00175), aimed at supporting immediate response efforts to newly detected aquatic invasive species in the United States. Eligible projects must focus on planning or deploying response measures specifically targeting non-native plants or animals in freshwater, wetland, estuarine, or marine environments, while excluding activities such as species identification or long-term management. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance early detection and rapid response capabilities against invasive species, with a total funding amount of $960,000 available, and individual awards ranging from $50,000 to $960,000. Proposals will be accepted on a rolling basis until July 15, 2024, with evaluations occurring quarterly; interested applicants can reach out to Susan Pasko at susan_pasko@fws.gov for further information.
