The Health Resources and Services Administration is accepting applications for the Nurse Faculty Loan Program to increase the number of qualified nursing faculty nationwide. Eligible accredited schools of nursing must establish and maintain an institutional loan fund to provide low-interest loans to students pursuing advanced nursing degrees who commit to serving as faculty. Recipients are required to provide a mandatory 11 percent institutional capital contribution to the fund and manage loan disbursements, collections, and cancellations, with program priority given to applicants supporting doctoral nursing programs. The agency expects to distribute approximately 80 awards from a total program funding pool of $25,600,000, with individual award ceilings of $2,000,000, and applications must be submitted electronically via Grants.gov by July 10, 2026.
Eligible Applicants
You can apply if you are an accredited school of nursing.Any domestic schools of nursing affiliated with this application must be:Accredited at the time of application and for the duration of the award. Accredited by a national or state agency recognized by the Secretary of Education for the purposes of nursing education. You must submit official documentation of accreditation in Attachment 1 for all affiliated nursing programs. Tribes and tribal organizations may be eligible if they own and operate an accredited school of nursing.
