The Primary Prevention Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program
Grant Opportunity Analysis
The Administration for Children and Families’ ACYF/FYSB is funding the Primary Prevention Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program through a cooperative agreement to prevent homelessness among youth and young adults ages 12 to 26. The program supports strategies and services aimed at youth at high risk of homelessness or housing instability, including those affected by human trafficking risk, substance use or mental health concerns, and transitions from foster care, juvenile justice, or residential behavioral health systems. Recipients must work with youth who have experienced homelessness, establish local youth advisory boards, and participate in a federally sponsored evaluation; eligible applicants are federally recognized Native American Tribal Governments, and cost sharing or matching is required. Applications are estimated to close on July 22, 2026, with an award range of $350,000 to $500,000, about 14 awards planned, and project start and award dates estimated for September 29, 2026.
