Strengthening Public Health Systems and Services in Indian Country

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is offering a cooperative agreement supplemental funding opportunity to strengthen public health systems and services in Indian Country. Eligible recipients must implement new FY 2027 Centers, Institutes, and Offices Project Plans to improve community health, public health infrastructure, and workforce development. This program is restricted to the 34 American Indian and Alaska Native Tribes and regional tribally designated organizations originally awarded under CDC-RFA-TO-23-0001. The agency expects to make approximately 25 awards from an estimated total program funding pool of $20,000,000, with applications due by April 2, 2027.
Eligible Applicants
This funding opportunity is a program supplement intended only for the 34 American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) Tribes and regional AI/AN tribally designated organizations awarded funding under CDC-RFA-TO-23-0001: Strengthening Public Health Systems and Services in Indian Country. The CDC-RFA-TO-23-0001 recipients are eligible to submit applications for new FY 2027 Centers, Institutes, and Offices (CIO) Project Plans according to the entity type, HHS Region, and/or IHS Area for which they received initial funding.
