The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) is seeking proposals for a cooperative agreement focused on Passive Acoustic Monitoring for Cetaceans in Lower Cook Inlet, Alaska. The project aims to collect and analyze data on the acoustic and oceanographic environment to document the occurrence of various whale species, including humpback, right, fin, minke, killer, and beluga whales, while also assessing the impact of anthropogenic noise sources. This initiative is crucial for understanding marine mammal trends in relation to oceanographic conditions and will involve substantial collaboration with BOEM scientists. The total funding available for this opportunity is $409,000, with a minimum award of $400,000, and proposals must be submitted by September 22, 2025.
