Grant Opportunity Analysis
The Department of the Interior’s Office of Insular Affairs is seeking grant proposals for the 2026 Brown Treesnake Control Program to prevent the spread of brown treesnakes from Guam, suppress and control the population on Guam, and support long-term eradication efforts. The work includes projects that help restore Guam’s native ecosystems, reduce snake-caused electrical outages to civilian and military facilities, and advance broader economic growth, reliable energy, national security, and regional stability. Eligible applicants are members of the Brown Treesnake Technical Working Group, and merit review emphasizes alignment with program priorities, clear narrative support, and strong budget detail. Applications are due May 18, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. ET, with SAM.gov and Grants.gov registration required, and awards are anticipated by September 30, 2026.
Eligible Applicants
Eligible applicants are limited to members and active participants of the Brown Treesnake Technical Working Group which includes, but is not limited to, representatives of the governments of Guam, the Commonwealth Northern Mariana Islands, and Federal Agencies, in accordance with 2 CFR 200.
