Grant Opportunity Analysis

The Defense Health Agency’s FY26 Peer Reviewed Cancer Research Program Idea Award funds innovative, high-risk, potentially high-reward basic cancer research that is relevant to Service Members, Veterans, and their Families. The award is intended for untested concepts, theories, or paradigms, and also includes a new Early Career Investigator option to support promising early faculty-stage investigators. Projects must address at least one congressionally directed FY26 PRCRP topic area and strategic goal, show strong scientific rationale and military health relevance, and may not include clinical trials; applications are evaluated for innovation, impact, military relevance, and research strategy. A pre-application is due June 26, 2026, and the full application is due October 5, 2026, with submissions through eBRAP and, for extramural applicants, Grants.gov; the help desk contact is 301-682-5507 or help@eBRAP.org.
