Grant Opportunity Analysis
The USDA Agricultural Marketing Service is offering the Acer Access and Development Program as a federal grant to support efforts that strengthen the domestic maple syrup industry. The program funds work tied to research and education, natural resource sustainability, market promotion, and encouraging private landowners to expand or allow public access for maple-sugaring activities. Eligible projects must align with either Market Development and Promotion or Producer and Landowner Education, with a mandatory 25% non-Federal cost share, a 36-month period of performance, and awards ranging from $200,000 to $500,000. Applications must be submitted electronically through Grants.gov by June 22, 2026, at 11:59 PM Eastern Time.
Eligible Applicants
Eligible applicants are States, Tribal governments, and research institutions from the 50 States, American Samoa, the District of Columbia, Guam, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Research institutions are organizations that typically conduct research with non-Federal and Federal funds, including colleges and universities, federally funded research and development centers, national user facilities, industrial laboratories, or other research institutes.
