Grant Opportunity Analysis
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention - ERA is seeking applications for the NIOSH Small Research Grant Program (R03) to support occupational safety and health research projects. Funded projects must focus on developing an understanding of workplace risks and injuries, exploring exposure reduction methods, or translating scientific findings into prevention practices. The scope of work is designed for projects that can be carried out with limited resources, such as pilot and feasibility studies, secondary data analyses, or the development of novel research methods. Applicants must concisely describe the specific occupational health burden addressed and clearly articulate the anticipated short-term and long-term impacts of their proposed research. The estimated total program funding is $2,000,000 to support approximately eight awards with an individual award ceiling of $100,000, and new applications must be submitted by February 16, 2027, to Jessica MK Streit at jstreit@cdc.gov.

Non-domestic (non-U.S.) Entities (Foreign Institutions) are not eligible to apply. Non-domestic (non-U.S.) components of U.S. Organizations are not eligible to apply. Foreign components, as defined in the HHS Grants Policy Statement, are not allowed.
