The National Institute of Justice (NIJ) is inviting applications for the FY24 Research and Evaluation on Hate Crimes grant, aimed at supporting rigorous research and evaluation projects that inform policies and practices to prevent and respond to hate crimes. The NIJ is particularly interested in funding evaluations of existing efforts to combat hate crimes, research on prevention strategies, and evaluations that improve reporting and outcomes for survivors and their communities. With an estimated total program funding of $2.5 million and an award ceiling of $2.5 million for up to four awards, interested applicants, particularly units of local government, must submit their proposals by April 29, 2024.
