OVW Fiscal Year 2025 Violence Against Women Tribal Special U.S. Attorney Initiative

The Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) is offering a federal grant opportunity titled "OVW Fiscal Year 2025 Violence Against Women Tribal Special U.S. Attorney Initiative." This initiative aims to support Tribes and United States Attorneys’ Offices in investigating and prosecuting cases of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, sex trafficking, and stalking in Indian country by funding dedicated Tribal prosecutors who will work as Special Assistant United States Attorneys (SAUSAs). The program is critical for enhancing jurisdictional coverage, improving communication among law enforcement agencies, and ensuring better prosecution quality through training and best practices. Eligible applicants include the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin, The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, and the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska, with a total estimated funding of $3 million, awarding $1 million each to three selected applicants.
