BJA FY 25 Invited to Apply - Tribal Justice Training and Technical Assistance Program

The Bureau of Justice Assistance is seeking a cooperative agreement to support the Tribal Justice Training and Technical Assistance Program, which is designed to strengthen Tribal justice systems and help prevent and reduce crime and the impacts of opioids, stimulants, and other illicit substances in Tribal communities. The work will provide technical experts to federally recognized Indian Tribes through culturally responsive, individualized assistance to develop, implement, and enhance justice systems. Assistance is expected to be delivered both virtually and on-site through meetings, webinars, and peer-to-peer learning sessions, with an emphasis on building tribal justice system capacity and supporting Tribal sovereignty and self-governance. Only applicants that received an official invitation letter from BJA may apply, and applications are limited to the Tribal Law And Policy Institute and Fox Valley Technical College; the application deadline is May 6, 2026, with up to two awards of up to $500,000 each and no matching requirement.
