The Bureau of Justice Assistance is offering a continuation grant to support legal assistance for eligible tribal members, federally recognized Indian tribes, and tribal justice systems through the Tribal Civil and Criminal Legal Assistance Program. The program is intended to fund legal aid and indigent defense services for tribal communities in rural and remote areas of the United States where legal services are sparse. Only applicants that received an official invitation letter from BJA may apply, and the listed eligible applicant is the Montana Legal Services Association. Applications are due May 6, 2026, the award ceiling is $765,000, and questions may be directed to OJP.ResponseCenter@usdoj.gov.
