Preventing global health threats by strengthening surveillance systems to accelerate outbreak detection, notification, and response
Grant Opportunity Analysis
The Division of Global Health Protection within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is offering a cooperative agreement to protect and improve public health globally by strengthening health surveillance systems to accelerate outbreak detection, notification, and response. Selected partners will work with Ministries of Health, CDC country offices, and other stakeholders to enhance electronic disease surveillance platforms, improve the surveillance workforce, reinforce emergency preparedness, and integrate surveillance data into actionable insights. Supported activities will build local regional and country capacities to prevent infectious diseases, strengthen border health security, address One Health priorities, and mitigate public health events of international concern. The CDC expects to make one to two awards under this five-year program, with an estimated total program funding of $15 million and expected Year 1 funding of $3 million. Applications must be submitted electronically by July 15, 2026, and inquiries can be directed to Broderick Yoerg at DGHPNOFOs@cdc.gov.
