Countering Foreign Terrorist Organization Use of Illicit Mining

The U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Counterterrorism is seeking proposals for an initiative to counter the exploitation of illicit mining by violent Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs). Awardees will be required to design and implement an integrated approach to address the relationship between FTOs and transnational criminal organizations in the illicit mining sector. The work must engage key stakeholders, including civilian law enforcement, mining sector regulators, judges, prosecutors, and civil society. Eligible applicants include not-for-profit organizations, educational institutions, for-profit entities, public international organizations, and governmental institutions.
