2026 Alaska Marine Education and Training Mini-Grant Program
Grant Opportunity Analysis
NOAA is offering the 2026 Alaska Marine Education and Training Mini-Grant Program to fund projects in Alaska that advance marine-related workforce development and seafood competitiveness. The program supports work in marine science, aquaculture and mariculture, maritime operations, seafood safety and management, fishing technology innovation, consumer education on sustainable seafood, regionally informed fishery management, and supply chain partnerships. Proposed projects must be conducted in Alaska, and applications are evaluated on relevance to program goals, technical merit, applicant qualifications, outreach, and project costs; eligible applicants include individuals, commercial organizations, governments, higher education institutions, and nonprofits. Approximately $600,000 is available, with awards from $15,000 to $75,000, and the first application deadline is June 22, 2026; applicants must register with SAM.gov, eRA Commons, and Grants.gov, and questions may be directed to Leah Gregg at akr.grants@noaa.gov.
Eligible Applicants
Eligible applicants are individuals as legal entities (such as sole proprietorships or limited liability companies); commercial organizations; state, local, and tribal governments; institutions of higher education; and nonprofits. Federal agencies and their employees, as well as Federal instrumentalities (including employees and members), are not eligible to apply.
