Grant Opportunity Analysis

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is offering the FY 2026 Continuum of Care Competition and Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program Grants to support efforts to end homelessness and strengthen coordinated community responses. The funding supports projects that rapidly rehouse individuals and families experiencing homelessness, address safety and displacement related to domestic violence and similar trauma, and serve youth ages 24 and younger who are experiencing homelessness. The competition includes CoC Planning, UFA Costs, CoC Bonus, DV Bonus/Reallocation, and YHDP projects, along with renewal, expansion, and consolidation options, and it is open to eligible nonprofit and government applicants. Applications must be submitted in e-snaps by August 26, 2026 at 8:00 p.m. ET, and questions are directed to CoCNOFO@hud.gov.

Additional Eligibility Information

Eligible project applicants for the CoC Program Competition are found at 24 CFR 578.15 and include nonprofit organizations; state governments; local governments; instrumentalities of state and local governments; Indian Tribes and tribally designated housing entities, as defined in section 4 of the Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act of 1996 (25 U.S.C. 4103); and public housing agencies, as such term is defined in 24 CFR 5.100, are eligible without limitation or exclusion. Individuals, foreign entities, and sole proprietorship organizations are not eligible to compete for, or receive, awards made under this announcement.
