The Geological Survey is offering a funding opportunity for a 2-year research project to study overwinter hydrodynamics on Lake Erie cold-water fish spawning reefs. This opportunity is being issued under a Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) Program, specifically for CESU-affiliated partners with the Great Lakes-Northern Forest Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit. The funding instrument type is a Cooperative Agreement and there is no cost sharing or matching requirement. The project aims to understand the hydrodynamics of Lake Erie during the winter season and its impact on the spawning reefs of cold-water fish. The research will contribute to the scientific knowledge of the ecosystem and support conservation efforts. Eligible applicants must be participating partners of the CESU program. The application deadline is July 15, 2024, and electronically submitted applications must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m., ET, on the listed due date.
