Grant Opportunity Analysis
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is offering the Precision Measurement Grant Program (PMGP) to support research in fundamental measurement, testing basic laws of physics, and determining fundamental constants. This grant aims to foster collaboration between eligible applicants, including accredited institutions of higher education, non-profit organizations, for-profit entities, and various government bodies, while emphasizing pressing problems or emerging opportunities in the field. One award of up to $150,000 will be granted, incrementally funded at $50,000 annually over three years, with a pre-application due by April 9, 2026, and a full application deadline of June 22, 2026. Eligible Applicants
Eligible applicants include accredited institutions of higher education; non-profit organizations; for-profit organizations incorporated in the United States; State, local, Territorial, and Indian Tribal Governments; foreign public entities; and foreign organizations. Although Federal entities are not eligible to receive funding under this NOFO, they may participate as unfunded collaborators. Please note that individuals and unincorporated sole proprietors are not considered “non-Federal entities” and are not eligible to apply under this NOFO.
