Description

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has announced the opportunity to apply for funding under the Licensure Portability Grant Program (LPGP). The purpose of this grant program is to provide support for state professional licensing boards to develop and implement state laws and policies that will reduce barriers to telehealth. Telehealth refers to the use of electronic information and telecommunication technologies to support long-distance clinical health care, patient and professional health-related education, health administration, and public health. This grant aligns with HRSA's goals of improving access to quality physical and behavioral health services, achieving health equity, and enhancing population health. The grant seeks to support multi-state collaborations that enable licensed health care professionals to provide telehealth services across state lines. The funding opportunity is available for both Competing Continuation Awards and New Awards. Competing Continuation Awards are for applicants with an existing HRSA-funded LPGP, while New Awards will support state professional licensing boards to develop and implement state laws and policies to improve access to quality physical and behavioral health services through telehealth technology. The grant provides special consideration for a multi-state licensure collaborative focused on Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs). The deadline for applications is April 8, 2024. For more information, contact LCDR Jenna Cope at (301)443-5503 or email jcope@hrsa.gov.
