State Maternal Health Innovation Program (SMHI)
Grant Opportunity Analysis
The Health Resources and Services Administration is accepting applications for the State Maternal Health Innovation program to build state-level capacity to improve maternal health outcomes and address disparities. Recipient organizations will deliver quality services, support a skilled maternal health workforce, enhance maternal data quality and capacity, and implement innovative programming to reduce maternal mortality and severe maternal morbidity. Eligibility is restricted to the seven award recipients from the fiscal year 2022 State Maternal Health Innovation cohort. The agency expects to make seven cooperative agreement awards with an estimated total program funding of $4.6 million and individual award amounts ranging from $657,142 to $1,000,000. Applications must be submitted electronically by April 19, 2027, and inquiries can be directed to the Division of Women's Health at wellwomancare@hrsa.gov.
